By using its own SDP solution, you get easy cloud migration as well as secure environments like IaaS, PaaS and beyond. Perimeter 81 offers a software-defined perimeter (SDP) to limit network access by offering manageable system control. This increases your privacy and efficiency while mitigating against data loss as well as reducing total cost of ownership for IT security by offering a single connected platform. Security is tight, with protocols including OpenVPN, IKEv2 and WireGuard, and you'll also get automatic Wi-Fi security and a zero-trust network. However, there are a few features that will be useful to pretty much every business, and these are often very different to consumer VPNs.įirstly and most importantly, you'll need to make sure that your business VPN has rock-solid encryption – if it doesn't, keep searching, because there are tons of great options that fulfil this basic function. ![]() No two businesses are alike, and every company will have different requirements from its business VPN. However, a business VPN is an investment that you're likely to stick with for some time, so choosing the right one can be a difficult decision. Plus, dedicated business VPNs usually offer static IPs, which allow you to restrict access to your data to just one IP address which only you and your staff can use. As many of us still continue to work from home (we both love it and hate it), being able to access restricted company files and data is essential for keeping our now-disparate teams cohesive – as well as protecting sensitive information from prying eyes.Ī business VPN does this by encrypting all of your internet traffic and data, meaning that even if it is intercepted, the hacker would be totally unable to read it. ![]() This marks Witherspoon’s first comedy series starring vehicle she made her foray into TV series with dramas Big Little Lies at HBO, which originated as a limited series, and The Morning Show at Apple TV+. ![]() The concept for the series, which has a little bit of Ted Lasso vibe to it, was loosely inspired by Andrea Kulberg’s story as an American woman from the South who went to the UK to teach British teens about cheerleading. She will direct the pilot and half of the episodes, and will executive produce the series through her Lean Machine banner.Īll Stars follows a former cheerleader from Daytona Beach (Witherspoon) who cons her way across the pond to teach cheerleading at a school in coastal England and has to show a ragtag group of students – and herself – how to be All Stars. The Devil Wears Prada writer and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna is creator and showrunner. And what I was reminded was that in nature, everything is in alignment and everything has its own unique place under this starry sky.The project comes from Witherspoon’s production company Hello Sunshine, with the company’s Lauren Neustadter also executive producing. It’s getting out of our own way.Ī s an ‘aligned’ side note, I’m actually writing these words to you under a full starry sky, in a remote village in the heart of my home country Romania, where I came for a week to work immersed in nature and quietness (thanks to remote work!). It’s moving towards, rather than moving against ourselves. My belief is that alignment is just life keeping us on our natural evolution course and that what genuinely attracts us is what’s best for our healthiest growth. In fact, whatever you think the effort is to seek and find aligned roles, it doesn’t even come close to the effort and energy it takes to constantly mitigate these continuous inner (and eventually outer) conflicts between your values and needs and the values and needs of the company and team you’re a part of, if you’re missing that alignment. In the end, the amount of work is the same. The world is more connected than ever, and opportunities abound, both in quantity and diversity, giving us a lot more chances to find companies and roles we genuinely feel aligned with, as long as we’re willing to look out for them.Īnd if you think about it, if you’re gonna put energy into looking for a role, you might as well channel that energy in the right direction, and find something that truly excites you, that is in harmony with who you are. Now our scarcity mindset might tell us that seeking and finding alignment in work is hard, even impossible, or a luxury only a few can afford, and that we should just go for whatever opportunity arises.īut the reality is we live in a day and age where finding alignment is actually very possible. Work becomes an extension of who we are, instead of a contradiction. When we work in alignment and coherence with our values, gifts and our core beliefs on the other hand, we’re taking the shortest route to fulfilling (and expressing) our potential, and finding meaning and purpose in our work. Occasional friction is of course part of life, and can be a way for us to fine tune and learn more about ourselves and others, but when it’s a daily reality, it ends up consuming most of our resources and leaves us feeling depleted, unmotivated and far off-course. Likewise, we know that working in a role or an environment that isn’t aligned with our values or meeting our core needs can bring about a lot of inner conflict and block our natural creative flow. It’s not that we don’t want to have as many people as possible on this journey we’re taking – in fact having a big community where every single person in the ecosystem is thriving is part of our higher vision – but we know that where misalignment exists, there’s resistance and friction, and holding back. We take a very conscious approach with who we let into our ecosystem too, be it partners, investors or anyone involved in our community, in one way or the other. And how disruptive and constricting misalignment can be. ![]() That’s because we know how vital and expansive alignment is. We’re constantly making sure that we’re all feeling aligned with our vision, values and what we’re building in the world and also that our community embraces, shares and nurtures the same values as we do.īringing more alignment into the work world is also a core part of our purpose as a company, and helping people all around the world find aligned roles where they can truly show up as themselves, in their full integrity and potential. In our team we talk a lot about alignment. ![]() Many other email clients are clunky at best when it comes to this. If your like me, the best tool for accepting Google calendar invites is in the body of an email in Gmail or G Suite. Maybe that’s because I’m a Luddite at heart. Mailplane has deep macOS integration with AppleScript, too. ![]() And as I already mentioned, you can reply to email from Mailplane’s desktop notifications. It shows me how many unread emails I have. You have mailĪnother favorite feature of mine is the Mailplane menu bar icon. I’d feel naked without it when composing email. Grammarly ensures that my messages are clear, mistake-free, and impactful. Thank goodness that Grammarly is included. That’s on top of the already supported extension for RightInbox, Streak, Boomerang, and Clearbit Connect. There are eight new integrated Chrome extensions including: Grammarly, FullContact, LinkedIn, Gmelius, Mixmax, Hiver, Salesforce, and Zoom Scheduler. I have not encountered another Mac email client that seamlessly integrates this well with Omnifocus to enhance my productivity. In my judgement, this feature alone is worth the $30 price tag. Now, when I open Omnifocus on any of my Macs, I can click the Mailplane link in the task, and it will take me back to the email in Mailplane. The text of the email, in addition to a link to the email, is now a task in that project. It automatically saves the email’s contents, and allows me to create a title and send it to whichever Omnifocus project I want. When I need to create a task with an important email, I hit Mailplane’s “clips” button in the Mailplane toolbar. With Mailplane, I can seamlessly integrate with third-party apps like DevonThink, Omnifocus, Todoist, Receipts, Evernote and more.Īs part of my workflow, I regularly use the task manager Omnifocus. It goes without saying: having multiple session logins in different browser tabs often results in a hair-pulling nightmare. Try managing multiple business and personal accounts in the browser. But you won’t get the desktop experience. Sure, you could use your Gmail or G Suite accounts right in the browser. Use any Google-supplied theme you want, or create your own. Let’s not forget “Google quick compose,” one of Google’s latest features that finishes the writing of your sentences as if the mail-compose window was reading your mind. There’s best-of-class email threads, labels instead of folders in addition to all the other good stuff provided by Google. ![]() There’s much better search than with a desktop client, too. With Mailplane, say goodbye to downloading gigabytes of emails. It’s a native Mac email desktop client experience for users who want the best of both worlds-a powerful and modern desktop application packaged in a web interface. If you take the free 15-day trial, you’ll understand that there are many good reasons to partake in the app Ruben and Lars have created. “This is just a web browser wrapper, so what’s the point?” Powerful desktop application I recommended that my Mac-using cohorts try Mailplane. A ton of IRC chat among the staff about which email client would work well with Google had ensued. When I was the senior editor at Ars Technica, for example, the site’s staff migrated from Microsoft Office 365 to G Suite. Along the way, I have been evangelising for the Gmail and G Suite centric app to whomever would listen. I haven’t looked back, despite wasting my money on an untold number of other Mac clients. I stumbled on Mailplane years ago while searching for an alternative to the native Mac client. Devs Ruben and Lars asked me to write a brief review of their Mac email client, and to offer a few examples of how I use some of its unique features as part of my consultancy business. I’m David Kravets and a satisfied, long-time customer of Mailplane. |
